Job Title: Youth Specialist, School Age Programs YMCA

Description: The YMCA is seeking energetic and dedicated child care Youth Specialists to p rovide direct supervision in a safe, fun and educational environment for all School Based program participants. Our Leaders p rovide a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. Schedule:
Before-school hours: 6:30 am - 8:30am.
After-school hours: 2:30pm - 6:00 pm.
Flexible schedules may consist of before-school, after school or a combination split shift.

Essential Functions:

• Supervises an assigned group of children to ensure safety
• Nurtures children and provides academic growth opportunities that support the school curriculum
• Engages children by facilitating program activities that are designed to enrich their lives.
• Establishes a positive rapport with children, parents, and staff while maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all times

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must have a high school diploma, GED, certificate of completion, or provide proof of enrollment in high school or a GED program if graduation is anticipated within 2 years.
• 1 year previous child care experience is preferred
• Desire and ability to work with children of all ages
• Demonstrated responsibility and dependability
• Excellent communication skills
• CPR/AED and First Aid Certification preferred
