Job Title: Yocto Engineer - Medical Device or break into medical device industry! Just please bring your Yocto expertise for this hot contract for 6 months!

The ideal candidate should have at least 3 solid years of consistent Yocto Engineering work a blend of engineering skills related to software, hardware, driver, and system boot sequences. 

Location: Burlington, MA area (just east)

Work Hybrid - 3x per week

Position Overview: The Yocto Engineer - Medical Device will be a technical expert with a strong focus on Yocto (and Linux) engineering to develop and maintain advanced medical device products.

-This position will be the first point of contact for the development team in terms of Yocto and the development of recipes and components. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Writing Recipes
• Debugging driver-level issues
• Creating images
• Collaborating with DevOps
• Understanding hardware software interaction
• Setting up development environments
• Understanding U-Boot and GRUB
• Understanding Kernel, Packages and Package Management
• Understanding and debugging hardware components, such as NOR, NAND, SPI Flash, and bus comprehension
• Understanding x86 and ARM architectures
• Building boot sequences and understanding Yocto Software Engineer, Firmware Engineer, and Schematics

Qualifications:

• Yocto guru!
• Demonstrated proficiency in writing recipes
• Ability to create images
• Collaborative experience with DevOps for setting up Development Environments
• Strong understanding of Linux internals:
• Knowledge of hardware/software interaction, including bootloaders (especially u-boot and grub) and system boot sequences
• Understanding of kernel structure
• Knowledge of packages and package management:
• Proficiency in patching and apt system
• Skilled in debugging driver-level issues in the operating system
• Comprehensive understanding of hardware components from an electrical standpoint, encompassing NOR, NAND, SPI flash, and bus comprehension
• Capability to troubleshoot hardware/software issues:
• Proficiency in reading schematics:
• Familiarity with processor fundamentals such as x86 and ARMics
