Summary of Responsibilities

As part of the crew, the Derrickhand operates machines and maintains equipment used for the workover rig. Most of their time is spent overseeing a multitude of functions in the derrick. Derrickhands normally work 12-hour shifts. Schedules will consist of fourteen days on and fourteen days off: working both days and nights. Relief Operators are expected to represent his/herself and Noble in a good manner. Relief Operators should always follow the correct chain of command and report all safety problems or violations immediately.

Primary Responsibilities (Not listed in relation to their priority)

1. Perform all well servicing tasks from an elevated position (tubing board or rod basket)

2. Perform service on oil wells as part of a 3-5 person workover crew

3. Assist in rigging up and rigging down

4. Picking up or laying down tubing

5. Being productive and efficient

6. Ensuring efficient maintenance of rig equipment

7. Working the floors or operating the rig when necessary

8. Driving crew truck when necessary

9. Complete time sheets and work tickets accurately

10. Physical labor includes heavy lifting, crouching, standing, and other duties as needed

11. Understanding and complying with Noble safety standards

12. Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

Preferred Qualifications

1. High School diploma, GED or equivalent

2. 1-2 years of Derrickhand experience

3. Basic problem-solving skills

4. Organizational skills

5. Ability to work in adverse weather conditions

6. Ability to effectively communicate both oral and written

7. Customer service skills

8. Basic oilfield well servicing experience

9. Ability to bend, crouch, and lift objects of up to 75 pounds for extended periods of time

10. Ability to multi-task and be adaptable

11. Ability to work in a face paced environment

Special Requirements

1. 18 years or older

2. Valid Driver's License

3. Average shift: 12-hour workdays

4. Rotation: fourteen days on fourteen days off

Travel Requirements

Travel to rig location before tower begins.

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weigh measurement, volume, and distance.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
