The Workday Finance Project Specialist will support the Finance team during the ongoing Workday implementation by providing subject matter expertise, project coordination, and future-state process development. This role is ideal for a finance professional (e.g., accountant or financial analyst) or a Workday Finance expert who has participated in at least one full-scope Workday implementation. While this position does not involve system configuration, it plays a critical role in ensuring that the design, testing, and rollout of Workday Financials aligns with business needs. This position reports to the Director of Finance and partners closely with the Business Applications and Workday implementation teams.
Key Responsibilities:

• Advisory & Design Support: Serve as a trusted advisor to the Finance team during the design and validation of Workday Financials. Provide insight based on system knowledge and/or accounting expertise.
• Business Process Development: Draft and refine future-state financial business processes in alignment with Workday capabilities and operational goals.
• Testing Coordination: Lead or support planning, coordination, and execution of system testing activities, including test script preparation, tester alignment, and issue tracking.
• Project Support & Facilitation: Organize and facilitate finance-related project meetings, document decisions, and track action items.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between Finance subject matter experts, system analysts, and project managers to ensure continuity and alignment throughout the implementation.

• 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting, OR 3+ years of experience as a Workday Finance analyst or consultant.
• Participation in at least one full Workday implementation, with a focus on Financials.
• Strong understanding of financial processes such as general ledger, accounts payable, expense management, and budgeting.
• Excellent organizational skills with experience supporting project planning and execution.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across functional teams.
• Experience in healthcare or a hospital setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with Workday Financials modules such as Banking & Settlement, Expenses, Customer Accounts, and Budgets is a plus.
