About Cassava & Our Culture:

Cassava has been a celebrated neighborhood restaurant since 2012 in the Outer Richmond neighborhood, known for fine dining style 3-course prix-fixe dinner featuring our creative California cuisine with the warmest hospitality.

We are moving to a larger location in North Beach this summer, and looking for caring candidates with fine dining experience in San Francisco or other major cities to join our service team.

Our wine list includes artisan wines from Europe and California that are Old World in style, with an emphasis on the traditional expressions of the classic regions. Beverage pairing, which also includes artisan sake, for the 3-course prix fixe is very popular with our guests, and is the core of our beverage program.

Our Ideal Candidate Checklist

The position is definitely for you if you fit in all of the following :

• Enjoy working with quality food, beverage, and like-minded people
• Hard-working and caring
• Hate cigarettes, drugs, and excessive drinking but enjoy the finer things in life
• Willing to wash dishes and mop the floor when necessary right after opening a bottle of fine wine
• Ready to follow detailed directions and learn new skills
• Live within 5 miles from the restaurant (Outer Richmond until Spring 2022, then North Beach)

The position is NOT for you if you fit in any of the following:

• Have a hard time being on time
• Smoke anything regularly, as that dulls one's palate
• Don't believe in tip sharing
• Don't believe that the Front and Back of House can work together and deserve equal pay
• Not able to stand on feet for at least 8 hours consecutively and lift 50lb easily
• Have strict dietary restrictions as you won't be able to taste the entire menu and describe
• Celiac and can't be around gluten as we bake our own bread and make our own pasta
• Have facial hair and not willing to shave, as it might fall into food (except for religious reasons)
• Can't work Saturday Sunday (we need open availability on weekends)

Candidates Requirements

• At least 2 years working with a wine list with Certified Sommelier level
• Food Handler’s certification
• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and seasonal flu
