Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Virtualization Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in San Diego, California, where we define possible.

Join our team to work in an embedded technology environment to develop software working with real time operating systems for use in flight and mission critical systems. We build complex aircraft systems using the latest technologies including simulation, cloud computing, DevSecOps, and cyber that can rapidly evolve to deliver enhanced capabilities for fielded systems, modernizing in partnership with our customers to meet their most complex missions. Accomplish

In this role you will assist with data center design, deployment, and documentation and will need domain knowledge of the existing areas.

Essential Functions:

• Ability to assist in of automating manual datacenter processes using Automation tools (Ansible, python, bash, etc.).
• Assist in development of CI/CD processes.
• Develop engineering and automated deployments for datacenter system configurations.
• Executing engineering projects on schedule.
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and redline documented procedures.
• Implement engineering changes to the system as required
• Responsible for integrating and testing software and/or hardware systems in complex IT systems.
• Work closely with Engineers and Technicians in a lab environment.
• Good planning, coordination, and documentation skills are required.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of STEM related engineering experience
• Experience in scripting/programming languages such as Python, Bash, and Powershell
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Experience with containerization of software services (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience deploying, configuring, and hardening virtual machines
• Infrastructure automation experience with tools such as Ansible, Packer, Terraform, etc
• Basic infrastructure knowledge in Backup/Storage and Network technologies
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance
• Ability to obtain (and maintain) special program access (PAR) prior to start.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiar with Agile methodology
• Familiar with version control, GIT experience preferred
• Experience with Cloud Platforms such as AWS and Azure
• Ability to author and maintain technical installation, configuration, and update documentation
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
• Active DoD S or TS Clearance
• Active PAR

Salary Range: $87,200 - $130,800
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
