Job Description

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients' speech and language abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, targeting specific speech, language, and swallowing goals.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions, including but not limited to, articulation therapy, language development therapy, voice therapy, and cognitive training.
  • Monitor and document patients' progress and make adjustments to treatment plans, as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as occupational therapists, physical therapists, and nurses, to coordinate patient care.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about speech and language disorders, treatment strategies, and home exercises.
  • Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss patients' progress and make recommendations for discharge planning.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist
  • Active CPR Certification
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
  • Is in good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards is required
  • Interest in working with the geriatric population
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders, evaluation techniques, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in computer skills and electronic medical records systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

EXPERIENCE:

  • With at least a year of experience is preferred.
  • With Skilled Nursing or Long-Term Care experience is preferred
  • Experienced Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech Therapist (ST)
