Tree Climber/Arborist

Location: Colleyville, TX
Salary: $28/hr

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a skilled  Tree Climber to join our team. This non-exempt position involves a variety of tasks related to climbing, pruning, and operating tree maintenance equipment. Candidates must have previous tree climbing experience and demonstrate safe and efficient work practices in accordance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Climb and prune trees at heights above 15 feet using proper techniques and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate and use climbing gear including ropes, harnesses, climbing spurs, and rigging systems.
  • Operate various equipment: boom trucks, man lifts, stump grinders, brush chippers, power saws, sprayers, and more.
  • Remove dead or excess branches; perform tree removals and reductions.
  • Follow OSHA, ANSI Z133, and company safety guidelines.
  • Identify and mitigate electrical hazards.
  • Hoist and lower equipment and tree limbs using ropes and rigging tools.
  • Collect and dispose of tree debris.
  • Provide information and advice to customers about tree care.
  • Fertilize, water, and spray trees; identify and treat diseases or infestations.
  • Use tools such as pole pruners, chainsaws, shears, and hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Participate in safety meetings and comply with all PPE requirements.
  • Perform cabling, bracing, and hazard assessments.
  • Follow standards set by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and ANSI A300.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of professional tree climbing experience.
  • License: Valid driver’s license required.
  • Certification: ISA Certification and CPR/First Aid are preferred but not required.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • ISA Certified (or able to obtain certification in a year)

  • Results-Oriented – Completes tasks efficiently and with quality.

Working Conditions

  • Outdoor work in all weather conditions and at heights above 15 feet.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and potentially hazardous equipment.
  • Physical demands include frequent climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, kneeling, and walking over uneven terrain.
