Job Title: Retail Pharmacist

Duration: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Shift Schedule:

• Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM or 9:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Every 3rd Saturday: 8:00 AM–1:00 PM
  EMR System: Meditech

Essential Job Duties

1. Perform all aspects of retail dispensing , including receiving and processing prescriptions, verifying accuracy, and ensuring proper labeling.
2. Take verbal prescriptions from authorized prescribers and complete filling, dispensing, and consultation processes.
3. Conduct and/or supervise pharmaceutical compounding when required.
4. Provide clinical pharmacy services , including:
   • Collecting medical histories
   • Performing therapeutic drug monitoring and pharmacokinetic dosing consultations
   • Offering drug information and patient education
5. Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, storage, and interactions.
6. Administer vaccines as authorized and in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
7. Participate in and adhere to departmental quality control and quality assurance programs .
8. Manage inventory control activities , including ordering, receiving, stocking, and maintaining accurate medication counts.
9. Supervise pharmacy interns and technicians , ensuring compliance with regulatory and institutional standards.
10. Support and follow all Medicare Accreditation policies and procedures .
11. Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Meditech EMR.
12. Perform additional duties as assigned to support efficient pharmacy operations.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Professional Pharmacy degree required (Doctor of Pharmacy – PharmD – preferred).
• Licensure:
  • Active Wisconsin Pharmacist License required, or temporary license with eligibility to obtain a full license within 60 days.
  • Must maintain active Wisconsin Pharmacist licensure throughout employment.
• Certification: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of related pharmacy experience (retail or clinical).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Meditech EMR system preferred.
• Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of pharmacology, drug interactions, and patient safety principles.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, patient-centered retail environment.
