Job Details

• A large system in Nebraska/Iowa are looking for ICU RN's. 12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed. 2 years of unit experience. 13 Week contract.

Job Requirements

• 2 years of unit experience.
• # of Beds: 34
• Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:1-2 ICU, 1:4 PCU
• Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults and Peds >15 years old, Neuro surgery, Respiratory failure, ARDS, MODS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock, renal failure, general surgery, psych/OD, GI bleeds
• RN's required to titrate drips: Yes - Vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, antiarrhythmics
• Charge Nurse on each shift: Yes- will attend RRTs and Codes
• Nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit.
• RT Equipment: RN's need to be proficient from Nasal cannula to vents

Schedule Information

• Shifts: 0630-1830, 1830-0630
• Weekend Requirements: Every other
• Holiday Requirements: Every other or as needed
• Floating Requirements: Will float to all inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU
• Orientation: 2 shifts of unit/department specific orientation
• Schedule based on unit needs

Unit Specific Information

• Med Surg ICU RN
• Charge nurse takes assignment and attends RRTs and Codes
• Tele/Monitor Techs: No techs - RNs need to be able to read and interpret telemetry
• Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue

Additional Details

• Fast-paced unit with volume flexes
• Attributes for a successful nurse: ability to ask questions, positive attitude, willingness to help, critical thinking skills, and collaborative approach
• Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
• RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
