iDEAL Hire is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Jackson, Minnesota.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
1. General job duties. Types of procedures required.
Primary emergency department care for patients suffering from trauma or other illnesses that require emergency attention. Provide backup for outpatient infusion therapy, same day surgery, assistance with med surg patients.
2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
EMR – Epic, Telemedicine, Lifepak 12, utilize remote pharmacy on nights/weekends with emergency medication supply.
3. Required skills and minimum years of experience.
Emergency Department Experience required – proficient in IV insertion, foley insertion, NG placement. Assist providers with ortho and suture procedures.
4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
BLS, ACLS, TNCC or CALS
5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
12 HR D/N Every other weekend. No call.
Days are scheduled with 2 RNs, 1 LPN Nights are scheduled with 2 RNs. May be working with one RN who may have little to no experience in ED.
6. Floating to over units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)
Medical Surgical

3 beds in ED, 14 beds in Med Surg
8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)
Varies - average monthly ED census is 175 patients, average daily Med Surg census is 2.3
9. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.
Orientation to the Emergency Department – time dependent on specific individual needs.
$2614 includes taxable hourly rate plus meals and lodging stipend. ***12 hour Day/Night rotating, every other weekend, 3 nurses during day/2 RN’s at night, no call, employee will never work alone. Floating between med-surg and Emergency Department***
