Job Description

Tower Crane Operators
  • Responsible for safe operation of crane
  • Responsible for personal safety and safety of co-workers
  • Responsible for slings, cables, straps, and the crane prior to lifting operations
  • Assures that all lifts are within load limits of equipment and correctly rigged
  • Operates crane to hoist materials and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Assures that lifting gear is inspected prior to use
  • Performs task assigned by the rigger during lifting procedures
  • Responds accordingly to both hand and verbal commands from riggers
  • Other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Min 1 year experience as crane operator •
  • Completion of High School or secondary education is preferred
  • NCCCO certificate preferred
  • 5 years + 200T Class (or larger) experience preferred
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays. •
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers, suppliers, and manufacturers.
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training.
Physical Requirements

Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, stoop, and move about shop and equipment. Some heavy physical effort required. Must be able to climb, sit, and work at extreme heights. Must be able to lift up to 50 lb. Will regularly be exposed to noise, heat, dust, and fumes around job sites. Extreme weather conditions possible, at times. Must be able to drive a vehicle for local travel. Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking and handling materials and be able to work at heights.
