Who We Are Looking For We are seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as a Theatre Director. As a teacher first, you will play a central role in developing and delivering engaging and comprehensive theater curriculum for students of varying ages and skill levels. Responsibilities Candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching and leadership in the following areas: Plan and teach theater classes, workshops, and rehearsals, focusing on acting techniques, improvisation, script analysis, and stagecraft. Create and adapt lesson plans and instructional materials to meet the needs and interests of diverse student populations. Direct and oversee student productions, guiding students through the rehearsal process, blocking scenes, and coordinating technical elements. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported, respected, and encouraged to take creative risks. Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to students, helping them to develop their performance skills, confidence, and artistic voice. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community members to organize and promote theater events, productions, and extracurricular activities. Stay informed about current trends and best practices in theater education, participating in professional development opportunities as available. Qualifications Candidates must be proficient in the following areas: Bachelor's degree in Theater, Drama, Performing Arts, or related field preferred. Previous experience teaching theater or directing productions. Strong background in acting, directing, and stage management, with knowledge of various theatrical styles and techniques. Organizational and time management abilities to maintain smooth studio operations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to talk and engage with young students. Enthusiasm, patience, and a genuine love for young people and the performing arts. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. First Aid (or willing to obtain) & Criminal Record Check. Salary & Benefits Expected Start Date: August / September Job Type: Full / Part Time Schedule: Monday to Friday 2:00-9:15pm, possible Saturdays or Sundays TBD Salary: $25.00-$45.00 (Negotiable based on experience and qualifications) Performance and attendance based bonuses.
