Job Description

We’re hiring a Terminal Operator. This position will be a critical part of the Terminal Operations team reporting to the Terminal Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining safety in the workplace and all regulatory standards. The Terminal Operator is expected to perform safely all duties related to the receipt, storage, distribution, and quality of petroleum products. Responsibilities include facilitating the safe movement, receipt, and shipment of product between pipelines, rail cars, tanker trucks, marine and storage tanks by strictly following policies and procedures and ensuring proper system lineup; ensuring product transactions are properly measured, accurately documented, and conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures; proper tank gauging by physically climbing the tanks and reading a gauge tape; using basic analytical test equipment and following procedures for performing and documenting product quality assurance testing; assisting in the maintenance and repair of metering devices, pumps, valves, and related equipment, and performing meter calibration; equipment investigation, repair or replacement of parts; performing and documenting transport truck and routine terminal inspections; stock balancing and reporting; interacting with government agencies; managing drivers for safe loading and unloading in facility; minor terminal hardware & maintenance purchasing in accordance with company procedures; performing terminal housekeeping and light labor duties including litter clearing and terminal inspections; ensuring safe handling of fuels while receiving product via pipeline; promoting and enforcing health, safety, security, and environmental activities; measurement assurance; marine PIC; daily environmental inspections (LDAR); identifying, investigating, and escalating issues with close attention to detail; analyzing and comprehending reports; performing calibrations on various equipment; vapor systems investigation, repair and routine maintenance; loading rack fire system inspection and maintenance; reading and understanding piping and instrumentation diagrams P & IDs; participating in security protocols at the facility as required and reporting incidents to appropriate parties; investigation of facility malfunctions observed or reported including lighting and fencing; controlling traffic and entrance gates; inspecting visitor’s vehicles and badges; and other tasks identified and needed for safe, environmentally sound, and reliable operations. Qualifications include being at least 18 years old, having a minimum of a high school diploma, possessing a current, valid driver's license, ability to operate a forklift, holding or qualifying to receive a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card, willingness to work outside in inclement weather, in compact and confined spaces, climb ladders, walk up and down steps, and work at heights, residing within 60 minutes of the site or willingness to relocate, willingness to work a rotating shift schedule, overtime, holidays, nights, weekends, and be on call to respond to site responsibilities and emergencies.
