Sentara Health is currently seeking a Teacher for our on-site Child Development Center at our Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Virginia.

Sentara Obici Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility located in Suffolk, Virginia. This 172-bed, full-service hospital continues a legacy of providing residents of Western Tidewater with high-quality, patient-centered care. In June 2010, Sentara Obici opened a new three-story, 63,480 square-foot wing, which includes all private beds serving orthopedic, medical, and surgical patients and increased the hospital's bed capacity.

Position Overview:

As a Teacher with Sentara, you will be responsible for the care and learning of children. You will initiate and provide activities appropriate to children in various age groups. The Teacher is responsible for following the curriculum and developing lesson plans for the group of children in their care and manage the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Education Required:

Associates Level Degree Required (ALD in Child Development preferred)

Experience Required:

2 years-Childcare experience

Job Summary

Responsible for the care and learning activities appropriate to children in various age groups.

Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred. High school Grad only must have college level coursework in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, psychology, or completion of Child Development Associate credential (CDA)
