Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Structured Cabling Technician to install, terminate, and test data, voice, and fiber-optic cabling systems across commercial and industrial environments. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working in construction or IT infrastructure settings, a strong understanding of cabling standards, and a commitment to delivering high-quality installations in a safe and efficient manner.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, route, and secure CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber-optic cabling in ceilings, conduits, racks, and patch panels
Terminate and test copper and fiber cables to ensure compliance with industry standards (TIA/EIA)
Build and label telecom closets, racks, cabinets, and patch panels following design specifications
Perform cable dressing, labeling, documentation, and as-built updates
Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and floor plans
Troubleshoot and repair connectivity issues for data and voice networks
Adhere to OSHA and company safety standards while working on ladders, lifts, or confined spaces
Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to complete installations on schedule
2+ years of experience in structured cabling or low-voltage installation
Proficient in copper and fiber terminations, testing, and certification
Familiarity with Fluke testing equipment, punch-down tools, and fusion splicing (preferred)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in commercial construction environments
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
BICSI Installer I/II or equivalent certification a plus
Experience installing security, AV, or access control cabling
Knowledge of network hardware and rack integration
Strong attention to detail, documentation, and cable management aesthetics
