Job Title: Structural Welder Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Welder to join our team. You will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and components based on engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding on the dry dock.
• Fabricate and assemble metal structures and components based on engineering drawings and specifications.
• Operate forklift to move materials and equipment as needed.
• Utilize mechanical knowledge to perform tasks such as rigging, general layout, and plasma cutting.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in flux core, stick, pipe welding, and structural welding.
• Experience in construction and structural fabrication.
• Ability to MIG weld.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
• Previous experience in fabrication or welding is required.

Work Environment

Work hours are Monday through Friday from 6am to 4pm, with mandatory Saturdays from 6am to 2:30pm. Enjoy a structured work schedule with a focus on safety and precision. The work environment is dynamic, requiring the use of forklifts and other equipment to facilitate tasks.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Suffolk, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
