POSITION SUMMARY
\n Responsible for all aspects of management and administration of a Sterile Processing Department (SPD). Supervises, mentors and
counsels personnel. Ensures all sterilization and decontamination activities meet or exceed the Association for the Advancement of
Medical Instrumentation (AMMI), International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) and The
Joint Commission (TJC) standards. Provides guidance and support to nursing departments which require services from sterile processing
in collaboration with nursing leadership. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.
Other related duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
\n MINIMUM EDUCATION: Associates Degree from an accredited college or high school graduate with 5
years supervisory experience in OR or Sterile Processing
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3 years in OR and/or Sterile Processing in a supervisory role
\n REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
(CBSPD) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or International Association of Healthcare Central Service
Material Management (IAHCSMM)
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Lean Certification or Lean Six Sigma Certification
