The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks to support the month-end close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records and supports compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and payroll allocations.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and investigate variances.
Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely financial reporting.
Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring proper classification of transactions.
Prepare financial statements, supporting schedules, and audit documentation as needed.
Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions as assigned.
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Identify and recommend process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
Strong understanding of GAAP and basic financial principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle).
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
