We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Manhattan, NYC. This role is in the finance industry and will involve the execution of various accounting tasks, with a focus on maintaining the financial health of our organization. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be responsible for managing customer accounts, conducting bank reconciliations, and working extensively with third parties.

Responsibilities:

• Engage in the monthly and quarterly financial closes to ensure accurate representation of the company's financial position

• Manage all aspects of accounting functions using NetSuite on a regular basis to maintain financial order and transparency

• Carry out monthly bank reconciliations for numerous bank accounts to verify our financial activities

• Oversee Accounts Receivable function which includes invoices, billing, and collection to ensure timely payment from clients

• Handle Accounts Payable function such as posting invoices, allocating expenses, and processing payments to manage company expenses

• Review Credit Card transactions, analyze, and allocate expenses in the General Ledger for accurate financial recording

• Review General Ledger for accuracy and completeness to ensure reliable financial reports

• Review, analyze, and upload financial statements and reports from Subsidiaries to maintain comprehensive financial records

• Process electronic payments in NetSuite and on online banking platforms to facilitate smooth financial transactions

• Respond to ad-hoc requests/analyses as needed to provide necessary financial information

• Assist in various Corporate Audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards

• Work extensively with third parties such as vendors, bankers, outside tax firms to provide required information and resolve issues.

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for financial data analysis and report generation
• Demonstrated experience in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations
• Knowledge and understanding of General Ledger management
• Ability to accurately and efficiently handle Journal Entries
• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures
• Experience with the NetSuite business management software
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Highly organized, with an ability to multitask and manage time effectively
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience
• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting requirements
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
