Colts Neck Equine Associates is offering a real life ambulatory internship where you will be exposed to all areas of equine ambulatory practice. We are a 7-veterinarian primary care group that includes high level show and pleasure horses, standardbred and thoroughbred racing stables and everything in between. Our doctors have advanced training in lameness diagnostics, acupuncture, spinal manipulation, dentistry and business. You will rotate through the different types of ambulatory practice areas and get exposed to a wide variety of styles, clients, patients and medicine. Our internship also includes exposure to running a practice including HR, accounting, bookkeeping, inventory, and billing if desired.
Trust an internship where you will learn about real world medicine, and real world problems in a real world setting. Don't finish your year not understanding the internal workings of an ambulatory practice including the business end. We promise a great year of collaborative veterinary medicine in a supportive and mentoring environment . You will be a productive and confident ambulatory veterinarian when your year is over whether joining a group practice, a hospital or striking out on your own.
Equipment is all up to date including 4 digital x-rays, 2 ultrasounds, gastroscope, lameness locator, regenerative and therapeutic lasers, and ESWT units. A vehicle is provided with the internship and living quarters are available if desired.
Central New Jersey is one hour from NYC, Philadelphia, Atlantic City and close to beaches, rural farms and suburbia. We have the best of all worlds including a vibrant equine population and a mix of suburban and rural towns that allow a great variety of opportunities both professionally and personally.
Mentorship, shared on call duties, and adequate time off will make your year one to remember fondly. Make the best of your internship and fill it with experiences and education that you can take with you throughout your career.
The successful applicant will be hard working, excited about ambulatory medicine and have a thirst to learn. They will need to be license eligible in New Jersey and want to work in a great collaborative environment with an enthusiastic technical and office support staff. We believe that you can be an ambulatory veterinarian, have fun, enjoy a great quality of life and still make a good living. Our interns get adequate mentoring and support and are encouraged to be independent with plenty of backup when ready.
Salary: $80,400 for the year includes private room if desired. This will be divided at a rate of $5700 per month for the first 6 months ($34,200) and $7700 per month for the 2 nd 6 months ($43,000).
