Job Title: Speech and Language Pathologist
Overview:

Established in 2006, we have licensed, trained, and experience therapists that specialize in physical, occupational, and speech therapy. We service patients in Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, Houston, and San Antonio areas and provide personalized quality care within the comfort of your home or place of residence. Job Summary:
A Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP), also known as a speech therapist, assesses, diagnoses, treats, and helps to prevent communication and swallowing disorders in patients of all ages. These disorders may stem from developmental delays, brain injuries, learning disabilities, emotional issues, and various other causes.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Patient Assessment :
    • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing skills.
    • Review patient medical histories and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to gather relevant information.
  2. Diagnosis and Treatment Planning :
    • Diagnose speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
    • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient evaluations and diagnoses.
    • Set realistic and measurable goals for therapy and provide a timeline for achieving them.
  3. Therapeutic Interventions :
    • Implement a variety of therapy techniques to treat speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
    • Use exercises, games, and technology to facilitate and enhance therapy sessions.
    • Provide interventions for patients with swallowing disorders, including exercises and dietary recommendations.
  4. Patient and Family Education :
    • Educate patients and their families about communication and swallowing disorders and the goals of therapy.
    • Teach strategies and techniques to help patients improve their communication skills and manage swallowing difficulties at home.
  5. Progress Monitoring and Adjustment :
    • Regularly monitor and document patient progress.
    • Adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  6. Collaboration and Coordination :
    • Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of comprehensive care plans.
  7. Administrative Duties :
    • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including evaluation results, treatment plans, and progress notes.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies regarding patient care and documentation.
  8. Continuing Education :
    • Stay current with the latest research, techniques, and best practices in speech and language pathology.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities and attend relevant workshops or conferences.
Qualifications:
  • Education : Doctorate degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Certification : Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
  • Licensure : Valid state license to practice as a Speech and Language Pathologist. Driver’s license and Certification.
  • Experience : Clinical experience through internships or previous employment preferred.

    • Physical stamina to assist patients and conduct therapy sessions.
Work Environment:
  • Settings : Home Health Care
