Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 school in Atmore, AL is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide essential munication support for students throughout the uping school year. This contract position offers the opportunity to contribute to an inclusive educational environment by facilitating munication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken and signed munication accurately and effectively in classroom settings and during school activities
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to enhance student learning experiences
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards
• Assist in the development of munication plans tailored to individual student needs

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting skills
• Prior experience interpreting in K-12 educational settings preferred
• Understanding of educational terminology and classroom procedures
• Strong interpersonal and munication skills
• Ability to work professionally and discreetly within the school environment
