Job Description

The Rosen Group is partnering with a leading international manufacturing company to identify a Senior Human Resources Manager for their facility in the Charleston Metropolitan Area. The Senior HR Manager is a strategic HR leader who will manage all aspects of human resources for the facility operations, including talent acquisition, workforce planning, employee relations, compliance, and culture change. The ideal candidate will have a strong generalist background in manufacturing environments and proven leadership and supervisory experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Workforce Planning & Talent Management : Develop and lead the workforce planning process, ensuring a strategic approach to hourly and salaried talent planning, including temporary labor and seasonal needs. Build a comprehensive talent management strategy that attracts top-level talent.
  • Recruitment & Talent Acquisition : Oversee full-cycle recruitment efforts for exempt and non-exempt roles, from entry-level positions to site management. Lead talent acquisition efforts for key roles, ensuring a proactive approach to filling positions.
  • Performance Management & Succession Planning : Lead performance management processes including introductory reviews and annual evaluations. Partner with management to implement succession planning and talent development strategies across all levels.
  • Employee Relations & Compliance : Manage all Employee Relations (ER) investigations with guidance from senior leadership. Ensure legal compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and company policies. Act as a key resource in handling sensitive employee issues.
  • Training & Development : Coordinate training needs for both internal and external programs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Develop and implement new hire orientation and follow-up systems to ensure satisfaction and effectiveness.
  • HR Operations : Oversee HR administration, including onboarding, offboarding, benefits enrollment, and reporting. Develop and analyze statistical reports on HR metrics such as recruiting, compensation, and equal opportunity employment.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration : Work closely with Operations and Quality teams to ensure compliance with safety standards, operational requirements, and regulatory frameworks, including QMS (Quality Management Systems) and OHSA (Occupational Health & Safety).
  • Team Leadership : Lead and mentor a small HR team of 1-2 direct reports while also overseeing front office responsibilities. Provide guidance and leadership to ensure team performance aligns with organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Experience : A minimum of 5 years of HR Generalist experience, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Warehousing experience will be considered. At least 3 years of experience leading recruitment efforts, including exempt salaried positions.
  • Education & Certification : Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR or PHR certification preferred.
  • HR Expertise : Proven experience in workforce planning, employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, and compliance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency with HRIS systems and advanced knowledge of Excel and data analytics.
  • Leadership & Cultural Change : Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive cultural change in a growing, dynamic environment. Ability to handle difficult conversations, promote accountability, and influence at all levels.
  • Physical Demands : The role involves occasional physical activity, including standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and ensuring a safe, compliant work environment.
