Job Description

A leading environmental science and engineering consulting company is seeking a Senior Solid Waste Engineer to manage infrastructure and compliance projects. The ideal candidate is a licensed engineering professional with extensive experience in solid waste systems and project leadership. Working collaboratively, the successful candidate will lead project execution by overseeing design and permitting activities while mentoring junior staff, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to environmental regulations and quality standards.

Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage environmental projects primarily for heavy industry in the oil and gas, solid waste, and chemical sectors.
  • Develop processes and infrastructure relating to wastewater treatment, hazardous or solid waste disposal, air emission sources, pollution control, environmental compliance, environmental permitting, and environmental remediation.

Requirements:

  • Landfill design, permitting
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Licensure
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience, ideally more than 10 years would be fine.
  • Project management experience for relevant types of work
  • Self-motivated with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team project members
  • Excellent time management and scheduling skills
  • Strong technical skills including proficiency in technical writing and design software (i.e. AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, HEC HMS)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety standards
  • Willingness and ability to interact with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and clients
  • Ability and willingness to travel
