Position Overview

Function as the lead fundraiser and chief fundraising strategist for Philanthropy and is dedicated to developing and leading a comprehensive philanthropy program for the Palo Alto division in order to steadily increase the organization's net philanthropic revenue. This includes engaging with local and regional leaders as well as with local fundraisers within the Sutter Health System to identify funding priorities and develop and implement service metrics. This position will coordinate and guide an integrated philanthropic team to maximize fundraising opportunities in a collaborative and strategic fashion. Responsible for the full spectrum of the philanthropy program including donor acquisition, retention and stewardship functions, prospect research and management, communications, legal/compliance and budgets.

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

Bachelor's or equivalent education/experience

12 years of recent relevant experience.

• Comprehensive knowledge of all fundraising approaches, with special expertise and understanding of capital campaigns, principal and major gifts, and planned giving.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain positive, collaborative, productive relationships with diverse key stakeholders across the organization
• Strong and persuasive interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and appropriately

• Excellent verbal and written communication with both internal and external constituents, including public speaking skill at delivering compelling and persuasive arguments.
• Ability to build trust through leadership and decision making
• Well organized and successful at judging multiple priorities
• Foresees roadblocks and prepares creative alternatives

Pay Range is $85.74 to $137.19 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
