What You’ll Do

As our Safety Specialist, you will be the key driver in fostering a safety-first culture at all project sites and within our organization. Your proactive approach will help prevent accidents, ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulations, and promote continuous safety improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs tailored to our electrical construction projects.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections at job sites, identifying hazards and recommending corrective actions.
  • Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and training sessions to promote best practices.
  • Review and interpret safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective measures.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to integrate safety protocols into daily operations.
  • Maintain safety documentation, records, and reports in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the onboarding and training of new employees regarding safety policies and procedures.
  • Stay current on emerging safety trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously enhance our safety program.

Physical & Environmental Demands

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; additional safety certifications preferred (e.g., OSHA 30/500, Certified Safety Professional).
  • Proven experience in construction safety, ideally in electrical or industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to conduct effective safety training and communicate clearly with diverse teams.
  • Experience with safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective action planning.
  • Proficiency with safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote a safety culture and influence behavioral change.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in electrical construction or related trades.
  • Certification in first aid and emergency response.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate safety hazards proactively.
