Our client is currently seeking a Safety Coordinator for their Food Manufacturing facility near Galesburg IL. This person will report into the EHS Manager and provide safety leadership for the site while managing / executing the safety activities for the plant location. This will include enforcing OSHA standards, conducting safety walk-throughs, performing safety analysis or manufacturing processes and conducting safety trainings for such safety programs as Fork-Lift safety, Lock Out/Tag Out, PPE, Confined Space, etc.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Provide safety leadership.
• Enforce OSHA standards as well as safety policies and plant safety walk-throughs
• Perform job site analyses to identify potential employee exposures to injuries and illnesses and support safe work practices/procedures.
• Conduct daily site safety inspections/audits, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
• Leads and/or assists accident investigations, near-misses, and property damage incidents to identify root cause(s) and develop effective corrective actions.
• Help manage daily activities regarding injury management and worker’s compensation issues.
• Conduct safety training: Fork-Lift safety, Lock Out/Tag Out, PPE, Confined Space, etc.
• Enforce site-specific safety programs.
• Conduct facility/site inspections and complete associated reports.
• Pre-task planning for high-risk work tasks.
• Work closely with Management. Be able to engage and advise the locations leadership relative to the safety program.
• Management and execution of safety activities for the plant location.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High School Diploma - College Degree Preferred
• 1-2 Years of Experience in Occupational Safety & Health - Manufacturing Experience Preferred
• First Aid, CPR, OSHA 10/30, or additional Board or Certified Safety Professional certifications is a plus
