POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will work with the Corporate Safety Manager and Operations teams to promote EWI’s safety culture and execute safety programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct Routine Site and Shop Audits:
- Perform inspections of all work areas, including both site and shop environments, to identify potential hazards and ensure work is being performed as safely as possible.
- Document findings, prepare reports, and communicate results with relevant stakeholders, recommending corrective actions and improvements to enhance overall safety performance.
- Maintain All Documentation Related to Incidents and Accidents:
- Accurately manage and organize a database of all safety-related documents, including incident and accident reports and corrective action plans.
- Ensure documentation is up-to-date, easily accessible for audits and inspections, and complies with requirements.
- Support Incident Management and Investigation, Root Cause Analysis:
- Lead and participate in thorough investigations of workplace incidents and accidents.
- Develop detailed incident reports, collaborate with relevant departments to implement corrective actions, and track the effectiveness of these actions to prevent recurrence.
- Develop Site-Specific Safety Plans:
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to develop tailored safety plans that address unique risks and operational requirements of specific job sites.
- Ensure these plans align with corporate safety policies and regulatory requirements, and are effectively communicated to all site personnel.
- Create and Facilitate Necessary Trainings:
- Support in creation and delivery of engaging and informative training sessions, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and media to ensure effective learning and retention.
- Support in Maintaining Corporate Health & Safety Manual and Creation of Policies:
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and updating of the Corporate Health & Safety Manual, ensuring it reflects current regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new safety policies and procedures, providing expert advice to ensure they are practical, effective, and aligned with organizational goals.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Safety, Health and Environmental experience
- Broad knowledge and understanding of HSE best practices, procedures, issues, and regulations relating to environmental work
- Experience conducting site safety audits
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office tools
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in EHS, natural sciences, environmental engineering, or a related science degree
- HAZWOPER 40 hour certification
- MSHA trained or instructor credential are a plus
PAY RANGE:
- $65,000 - $85,000 annually
