Primary purpose of the role: The Mitigation Technician is an essential member of the operations team. The mitigation technician will be primarily responsible for water extraction and for the cleanup/demolition phase of residential homes or commercial businesses that have experienced water, fire, mold or other damage.
MITIGATION TECHNICIAN - JOB REQUIREMENTS
Understand the operation of drying & restoration equipment such as dehumidifiers, air movers, HEPA filtered equipment, and other remediation equipment
Perform water mitigation, mold remediation, and fire damage mitigation according to IICRC guidelines
Have basic construction knowledge and be familiar with using basic hand tools and hand held power tools
Basic labor tasks, such as demolition and removal of debris
Must have valid drivers license, good driving record, and ability to drive vans and large cube trucks
Reliable transportation to and from our office
Must pass background check and/or drug test
General work hours from 8am to 5pm, nights & weekends as required by work flow
Must participate on company on-call schedule
Professional appearance, demeanor, and work ethic
Complete project related paperwork and document projects as required
MITIGATION TECHNICIAN - PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
Regularly use hand tools in order to remove damaged building materials from buildings
Must be able to don half face and/or full face respirator
Ability to use stairs and regularly climb and descend ladders of varying heights
Frequently stand, squat, crawl, and/or walk for hours at a time
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with others
MITIGATION TECHNICIAN - WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is generally performed in residential homes, commercial businesses, and/or municipal buildings throughout Western NC. Occasionally projects will require working in extreme temperatures, confined spaces, dusty, wet, or other adverse conditions.
