Position Overview:


At The Wildbirch Hotel, our Reservation Manager / Asst. Front Desk Manager is responsible for managing the entire reservation process, from initial inquiries to final confirmations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. They interact with clients, process reservations, manage inventory, and address any issues that may arise.

A valid work authorization for the USA is required - Please note that we do not provide any visa sponsoring for the listed role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking and processing individual and group and airline crew block reservations: This includes handling inquiries via phone, email, or online systems and accurately recording all reservation details and group list management.
  • Confirming reservations: Ensuring clients receive confirmation details, including policies and relevant information.
  • Managing room inventory: Monitoring availability and adjusting room blocks to accommodate requests.
  • Handling amendments and cancellations: Processing changes and cancellations in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Providing excellent customer service: Addressing guest inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Generating reports and analytics: Tracking reservation trends and providing data to management.
  • Communicating with other departments: Collaborating with front desk, sales, and other relevant teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • May also involve:
    • Supporting front Desk team in operation (check-in/out)
    • Creating travel itineraries.
    • Negotiating rates.
    • Selling and promoting services.
    • Forecasting revenue streams.

Requirements:

  • Previous hotel reservation experience is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to read and respond in English (additional languages are a plus).
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiastic, service-oriented, and with a passion for hospitality and Alaska’s vibrant culture.
  • Proficiency in hotel PMS softwares (Opera or comparable), Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with web-based tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
