Remote Software Developer (GoLang, Java, AWS) Post Date: Jan 13, 2025 Location: ZIP/Postal Code 90245 Job Type: Contract-to-perm Category: Software Engineering Pay Rate: $60 - $75 (hourly estimate) Job Description A large media/communications client in El Segundo is seeking a strong Software Developer to join their VOD Art in their Entertainment Services group. This team is responsible for transcoding, encrypting, and publishing studio content to the downstream system so the customers can access it on mobile, tablet, web, TV, and set up boxes. This team is responsible for the validation of packages from content providers, ingesting the content into their database, transcoding, and encrypting that content, then monitor and create dashboards to track content. The Software Developer will start on the ingestion of content. The Software Developer will be developing code that creates an automated process to validate good data for content ingestion. This person will also conduct code reviews for other team members. This person will participate in sprint ceremonies reporting daily activities with Product Owners on how to groom features, stories, and estimation perspectives. The ideal candidate should be flexible to move to other parts of the team depending on workload, skillset, and team size. Minimum Requirements Strong experience with: GoLang or Java (GoLang preferred) Cloud-based serverless technologies (AWS preferred - S3/Kafka/Step Functions/Lambda functions) Databases (SQL, NoSQL, etc.) Microservices and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.) Nice to Have Skills & Experience VOD/Streaming experience Previous AT&T or DIRECTV experience Benefits Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
