Registered Nurse - Student Health Services

Learn more about the "T" salary structure. The Student Health Registered Nurse (RN) provides outpatient nursing care to students. Triage patients to determine medical condition. Assists physician or CRNP with patient examination as needed. Reviews physician or CRNP orders, lab requests, or follow-up needs with patient. Performs CLIA waived laboratory tests. Administers specified medication, orally or by subcutaneous or intermuscular injection, and notes time and amount on patients' charts. Performs other duties as assigned. Care is rendered primarily at Main Campus Student Health Services. However, RN may be assigned to any of the two (2) campus sites: Health Science Center or Main Campus. BS preferred. Registered nurse with current Pennsylvania license required. Minimum 3 or more years clinical experience required, preferably in the area of occupational health, family practice, college health or emergency medicine. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills & Abilities: * Knowledge of workers' compensation laws; local, state, and federal regulatory requirements including OSHA and the Americans with Disabilities Act * Experience with systems for maintaining health records; ability to organize and manage the delivery of health care services and knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to occupational health care practice. This position requires a background check.
