Report to the Director, the staff RN is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to those patient via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other healthcare team members. If assigned as charge nurse, will serve as resource for coordination of activities on the unit. Responsibilities as charge include, but not limited to, assessment of unit needs, available resources for current and oncoming shift(s) based on patient acuity, volume, individuals and family needs and special clinical procedures or interventions pending.
Reports to: Director of Rehab
Demonstrates knowledge and application of the nursing process
• Plans and implements patient care and teaching based on the total assessment and the age of the patient.
• Develop plan of care that is individualized for the patient needs reflecting collaboration with other members of the healthcare team, the patient, and the family as appropriate.
• Evaluates and documents the patient response; Participates and cooperates in the unit-based Quality Improvement process.
• Supports, maintains, and provides an environment which is supportive of quality patient care based on best practice using a holistic approach to care, and by adhering to effectively using resources and personnel.
• Must posses a current and active Registered Nurse License in the State of Tennessee.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. BLS may be obtained within first week of patient care following orientation)
(ACLS & PALS may be obtained within six months of patient care following orientation)
Licenses: Current and active Registered Nurse License in the State of Tennessee.
