Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular ICU

**This position is for FT nights 3- 12 hour shifts a week

Are you an experienced RN with a passion for critical care? MedStar Union Memorial Hospital is seeking dedicated nurses to join our specialized  Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) team. This position offers a dynamic, high-acuity environment that fosters professional growth, collaboration, and impactful patient care.

Unit Highlights

• 8-Bed Unit : Equipped with advanced technology and supported by a multidisciplinary team, including NPs, PAs, Intensivists, and Surgeons.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration : Work in a team-oriented environment with three daily rounding sessions to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
• Night Shift Schedule : Enjoy a steady schedule of three 12-hour night shifts per week.

Patient Care Overview

• Diverse Cases : Provide care for patients recovering from open-heart surgery, catheter-based valve replacement, vascular surgeries, and thoracic procedures.
• Critical Skills Needed : Thrive in a fast-paced environment requiring proficiency in rhythm recognition and advanced critical thinking skills.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure.
• Prior ICU experience, with a preference for cardiovascular expertise.
• Strong skills in rhythm recognition and critical thinking.

As a Clinical Nurse in the CVICU, you will deliver expert nursing care to patients with a wide range of complexities. You’ll assess trends in patient conditions, plan interventions, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide exceptional care.
