Description Summary: A rehabilitation nurse assists individuals with disability and/or chronic illness to attain and maintain maximum function. The rehabilitation nurse assists patients in adapting to an altered lifestyle, while providing a therapeutic environment for patients and their family's development. The rehabilitation nurse designs and implements treatment strategies that are based on scientific nursing theory related to self-care and that promote physical, psychosocial, and spiritual health. The rehabilitation nurse utilizes the nursing process to assess, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care activities. Collaborates with other clinical associates and healthcare disciplines to meet individual needs using appropriate resources to ensure quality, safe, and cost-effective care. Nurtures a working relationship with physicians, nursing associates and other disciplines involved in the care of the patient/family. Requirements: Rehabilitation experience preferred, not required. Current Louisiana RN license BLS provider required. ACLS provider preferred, not required.
