Job Description: Purchasing Manager - Direct Hire

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement, supplier relationships, and material availability to support production goals. This role requires strong leadership, negotiation skills, and a proven ability to drive cost savings and process improvements.

They serve a wide network of dealers and provide solutions for both new construction and replacement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee procurement and planning activities to ensure a continuous supply of materials.
  • Manage and mentor a team of buyers, planners, and purchasing staff.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize material flow and supply chain processes.
  • Negotiate prices and delivery terms with suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate supplier records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Implement and improve purchasing/planning systems and processes.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Implement methodologies like PFEP, Kanban, and Pull Systems for efficient material flow.

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing purchasing experience, including 2-3 years of leadership experience.
  • Experience in commodities buying (coiled steel preferred).
  • Strong background in supply chain and inventory management, including ERP systems (Oracle, SAP).
  • Certification in Supply Chain or Inventory Management (CPSM, CPIM) preferred or commitment to obtain.
  • Six Sigma or Lean training preferred.
