Job Purpose

Project Leader for Production Engineering Business Unit responsible for Large Business Plan projects across multiple categories 

Key Accountabilities

• Develop project targets, general schedule, and specified action plan for BP projects.
• Lead early planning and activities to proactively identify theme requirements and develop countermeasure for successful achievement of themes and company goals.
• Lead communications with all required entities across PEBU and Honda (HDMA, 4MOC, AHM, etc).
• Create and Lead the Strategy of Production Engineering Japan resource requirements across multiple Departments as New Models advance toward BEV and need skilled engineers. Incorporate changes for new R&Rs in Global/ Local Model Development and Outsourcing strategies.
• Lead the development of PEBU BP Themes related to Winning Team Environment (Morale, Retention, Diversity and Inclusion, Leadership initiatives)
• Resolve issues and conflicts that arise during the projects so that project goals and targets can be successfully achieved.
• Communicate project status to all levels of management.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Engineering relevant degree or equivalent work experience
• 8+ years’ experience based on education, minimum of 4 years in a project leadership or similar role within an engineering environment
• Able to speak and write Japanese, experience with onboarding Japan resources

Workstyle

• Need to be comfortable on Plant Floor Production area, Open Office and Board Room.
• Short to moderate periods of high workload based on needs of overlapping projects.
• 5% Domestic and International travel as needed.
