  • Property boundary surveys
  • ALTA surveys
  • Topography surveys
  • Construction layout
  • Subdivision and platting services

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

A licensed land surveyor is at the core of the company’s operations. Specializing in land surveying, our client completes over a thousand surveys annually. A PLS in this role will review numerous maps weekly, including residential closing surveys, ALTA surveys, construction surveys, and topographic surveys. The position requires managing multiple ongoing projects simultaneously, from small one-day jobs to large, complex projects spanning weeks or months. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and distribute maps and survey deliverables within Alabama
  • Provide technical direction and oversight of field practices, including SOPs and quality control
  • Assist field crews with real-time boundary solutions
  • Maintain continuous feedback loops across all production areas, including field technicians, drafters, and project managers
  • Prepare crews for jobs and ensure job readiness
  • Estimate project execution time, particularly for large projects

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

  • Active and up-to-date Alabama Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license
  • Bachelor’s degree in surveying, engineering, or a related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a PLS
  • Strong understanding of both classical surveying principles and modern technology
  • Extensive experience in commercial, construction, and ALTA surveys
  • Survey management experience preferred, or demonstrated leadership and management aptitude
  • Integrity and professionalism
  • Strong communication skills
  • Managerial discipline and ability to oversee multiple projects
  • Decisiveness and ability to problem-solve in real time
