Job Description

This is a full-time, hourly position(s) working Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. The position is located in Enterprise, FL.

What You Need

  • High School Diploma or higher

  • Montessori Certification and CDA Certification from an accredited educational facility or BA or higher in Early Childhood Education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Consistently strive to meet all responsibilities of customer service, guiding and nurturing the development and learning of the students and families. Provide a prepared environment, identifiable activity routines offering and facilitating activity “transitions,” and observing the students constantly for the development of individual learning plans.

  • Use a daily schedule based on prescribed Montessori ideals. Function as a reference person and exemplar for students.

  • Assist with development and Montessori training of staff for program advancement.

  • Maintain knowledge of state elementary expectations for kindergarten readiness and each level of development, keeping these in mind while guiding the learning process.

  • Implement the program in accordance with the policies, procedures, schedules, scope and sequence and philosophy of the center

  • Supervise lesson plan content to meet program goals and individual needs of children.

  • Place a material need order, when necessary, to office.

  • Plan with teachers to gear the program and activities to the needs of the individual children with concern for their interests, special talents and individual style and pace of learning.

  • Keep personal log as reference for teacher needs, concerns, program requirements, and problems of any kind.

  • Involve parents in the program.

  • Maintain constant supervision of students in care; attend to students in distress. Supervise all activates to ensure proper participation and safety.

  • Use appropriate positive Montessori discipline techniques with students.

  • Interact with the students in a friendly and supportive manner using student’s names with calm tone of voice.

  • Follow policy and procedures for all of the students, activities and daily routines.

  • Report to the Administration any signs of illness, injury or abuse of students. Take appropriate action in emergency situations.

  • Maintain accurate attendance records and sign in sheets.

  • Assist in the planning and maintenance of the outdoor learning environment.

  • Treat children and parents with dignity, compassion and respect. Always remain objective.

  • Inform parents of child’s progress and adjustment in a positive manner.

  • Attend and Host Parent events during the academic year.

  • Assist in explaining the program to visitors. Tour school with prospective parents. Communicate Montessori philosophy to parents
