Introduction

Brunel is seeking a Piping Designer to support a dynamic execution-phase mining project in North America. The successful candidate will play a key role in detailed design and engineering phases, with responsibilities spanning piping layout, 3D modelling, and isometric generation. This role offers the opportunity to work on a range of mineral processing facilities and contribute to project delivery in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop piping models in a 3D environment, ensuring accuracy and interdisciplinary coordination (SmartPlant preferred).
• Prepare piping layout and detail drawings in alignment with project design specifications.
• Focus design efforts on key plant areas, including the tailings thickener and filtration systems.
• Generate and check piping isometrics and ensure integration with project standards.
• Support model reviews and action follow-up throughout the design lifecycle.
• Collaborate with engineers and other designers to ensure project consistency and completeness.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of piping design experience in mineral processing plants within an EPC or EPCM environment.
• Proficient in slurry handling systems and rubber-lined piping design.
• Strong understanding of piping components, systems, and P&ID interpretation.
• Working knowledge of SmartPlant 3D is essential.
• Familiarity with ASME B16, B31, and related industry codes and standards.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve technical issues with minimal guidance.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in both written and verbal forms.
