The Pipeline Operator is responsible for providing operational, technical and mechanical support for all facility equipment (Inspections, switching production, troubleshoot/maintenance of LACT units). Pigging Operations and Maintenance will be a primary responsibility for this role. Operators are responsible for a variety of tasks involved in troubleshooting, testing, maintaining, installing, and repairing equipment within an assigned area.
Job Duties: - Responsible for petroleum product movements in and out of pipeline pump stations; uses tools and techniques to accurately assess, quantify and quality crude oil and/or refined products; and is responsible for storage of products, and custody transfer activities with connecting carriers and customers.
- Perform pigging operations and provide all associated documentation.
- Maintain and operate pickup and equipment for pigging.
- Routinely inspects pumps and valves for proper operation.
- Performs monthly DOT tankage inspections, fire extinguisher inspections, and maintains associated records.
- Inspects perimeter fencing, locks, etc. to maintain proper facility, pipeline and ROW security and addresses and reports any infractions.
- Inspects and assures that routine and DOT compliance maintenance is performed on ROW, equipment and valves.
- Maintains communications with Pipeline Control Center
- Acts as witness to meter proving, crude oil shipment from lease to delivery point and run pipeline pigs as needed.
- Perform other pipeline related tasks or projects as deemed necessary by Operations Supervisor
- Troubleshoot and maintain LACT units when assigned.
Requirements: - Must live within a 50-mile radius of Eunice, NM
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience in the maintenance and operation of Refined Products Pipelines, Terminals, Pump Stations or equivalent industry experience
- Must have proficiency and knowledge of pigging operations and all proper documentation of
- Maintain/Operate pickup and equipment for pigging.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting and maintenance of LACT Units
- Operational Qualification Certification preferred; Will be a requirement for position.
- Must maintain a clean driving record, maintain company vehicle and abide by vehicle policies.
- Must be available to work callouts and emergency callouts.
- Must meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug, hair follicle, MVR, agility and fit for duty.
Physical Demands: - Utilize multi-limb coordination and flexibility combined with control precision to perform fine motor skills including: finger manipulation, grasping, feeling, arm-hand steadiness, in order to push, pull or lift objects.
- Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Work involves climbing at heights at or above six feet.
- Utilizes multi-limb coordination to balance on even or uneven surfaces, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, stand, and walk, reach over shoulders or below the knees.
- Auditory attention and hearing sensitivity is required, as candidates must possess the ability to distinguish various sounds that serve as key maintenance indicators.
- Must employ the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.
Work Environment: - Full exposure to extreme weather changes and humidity/moisture relative to atmospheric condition variations. Includes exposure to extreme summer and winter temperatures, as well as rain, sleet, and snow.
- Full exposure to dust, chemicals, gases, fumes, smoke, excessive noise, and/or vibrations.
- Work generally performed in an industrial environment (indoor or outdoor) with various hazards and noise exposure.
- Travel may be required for assignments, meetings, and training.
- The job also requires availability for rotating on-call schedule, occasional unscheduled callouts and extended workdays and/or workweeks.
- Overtime, Weekend and/or Holiday hours may be required.
