Position: Animal Assistant - Pet Sitter and Dog Walker
Location: Salina, KS (and surrounding areas)
Hourly Pay: Starting at $11.00/hr

Key Responsibilities

Transportation:

• Safely transport pets to and from appointments.
• Navigate efficiently within a 30-minute radius of Salina (with occasional extended trips).

Dog Walking & Trails:

• Walk dogs in public places and on trails, managing dogs up to 120 lbs.
• Use effective walking techniques to ensure safety and control.

Pet First Aid:

• Complete and maintain Pet First Aid certification.
• Handle emergencies calmly and appropriately.

In-Home Pet Sitting:

• Provide comprehensive in-home care for a variety of pets.
• Perform tasks such as feeding, mail collection, plant watering, and basic cleaning.
• Follow client instructions and company procedures meticulously.

Reporting & Documentation:

• Use pet-sitting software for accurate documentation and reporting.
• Capture and share photos and videos as per company standards.

Pet Management:

• Understand and manage basic pet behaviors.
• Identify signs of aggression, stress, and fear.

Technology:

• Utilize smartphones and computers for job-related tasks.
• Create social media content, including being on camera.

Client Relations:

• Maintain excellent customer satisfaction.
• Communicate effectively and build rapport with clients.

Teamwork:

• Work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Be flexible to accommodate schedule changes and support team members.

What We’re Looking For:

• Education/Experience: High school junior level minimum, with pet care experience preferred.
• Physical Requirements: Lift up to 60 lbs, manage dogs up to 120 lbs, walk and drive regularly, and work outdoors.
• Attributes: Reliable, punctual, and passionate about animals.

Non-Essential Functions:

• Assist with office tasks and phone calls.
• Create and post content on social media.
• Help with events and promotional activities.
