Penetrant Testing (PT) Technician - Paper Manufacturing Job Summary


The PT Technician performs liquid penetrant testing (PT) to identify surface defects in metal and machinery components used in paper manufacturing. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining equipment reliability, preventing structural failures, and ensuring plant safety.



Penetrant Testing (PT) Technician - Paper Manufacturing Responsibilities

  • Conduct penetrant testing (PT) on critical equipment such as machinery, rollers, and pressure vessels.
  • Identify cracks, leaks, or other surface defects in non-porous materials.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, test reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Follow NDE/NDT industry standards, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Penetrant Testing (PT) Technician - Paper Manufacturing Position Requirements

  • NDT Level I or II certification in Penetrant Testing (PT) required.
  • NDE/NDT certification from ASNT, NAS-410, or an equivalent recognized body preferred.
  • Experience in industrial inspection, manufacturing, or a paper mill environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on safety and compliance.
