• Clinical Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts, full-time, 2-3 shifts per week

• Patient Demographics: Ages 0-17
• Patient Volume/Census: 7-15 patients per day
• Case Mix: Pediatric ICU and Pediatric-status patients
FACILITY INFORMATION
• No. of Beds in Department: 14 (PICU and Pediatric-status patients)
• Trauma Level: Level 1
• EMR System: Cerner
• Specialty Backup Available: Intensivist coverage 24/7 (from home at night)
• Support Staff Available: 31 RNs, 4 PCTs
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
• Credentialing Timeline: 30-60 days

REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• Intubation and vent management
• Lumbar puncture
• Central line placement
• Arterial line placement (preferred)
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active AZ State License
• Board Certification: Board certified PNCB – Acute Care
• Certifications: PALS, BLS
• Preferred Certifications: ATLS
• DEA: Yes
• Experience: Minimum 2 years required
• Other Qualifications: Competence in leading PALS Code Blue events
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide critical care for PICU and pediatric-status patients
• Perform required procedures including intubation, lumbar punctures, and central/arterial line placements
• Lead PALS Code Blue events
• Collaborate with intensivists and other healthcare providers to ensure quality patient care
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and credentialing requirements
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
