Join our dynamic team as a Payroll Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your attention to detail and expertise in payroll systems, contributing to the seamless operation of our organization's financial functions.

Job Responsibilities

- Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time.

- Maintain and update employee payroll records in the system.

- Calculate and verify employee hours, wages, and deductions.

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.

- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management as needed.

- Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and inquiries from employees.

- Coordinate with HR and Finance departments for payroll-related issues and updates.

- Assist with the preparation and submission of payroll tax filings.

- Manage direct deposit setups and changes for employees.

- Stay informed about changes in payroll regulations and best practices.

- Participate in audits by providing necessary payroll information and documentation.

- Support the implementation and maintenance of payroll systems and software updates.

- Process and verify garnishments, levies, and other wage withholdings.

- Generate year-end payroll reports and distribute W-2s and other tax statements.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing.

- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms).

- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.

- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Knowledge of payroll best practices and compliance requirements.

- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.

- Experience with multi-state payroll processing is a plus.
