Job Overview:
An Office Manager is responsible for the non-clinical aspects of the day-to-day operations in a medical office and its various departments. Their duties include communicating with department heads, relaying important information or policy changes from upper management to enhance employee productivity. Office Managers are the first point of contact for internal and external parties for the office, which may impact some customer service and communication elements of the job duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises patient scheduling, registration, financial counseling, data entry and processing, and cash posting.
Oversees the work of all office employees to ensure they work productively and meet deadlines and company standards.
Coordinates the day-to-day operations.
Counsels any employees struggling in their roles.
Reports office progress to senior management and working with them to improve office operations and procedures.
Promotes excellent customer service.
Develops, implements, and maintains office policies and procedures.
Assists with interviews, hires, and trains a productive medical office team and conducts performance reviews.
Ensures patient satisfaction, including troubleshooting when there is a complaint and developing process improvements to prevent recurrences.
Ensures regulatory compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, labor laws, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
Coordinates staff meetings for administrative staff.
Ensures staffing is appropriate for day-to-day operations.
Assists ins special projects.
Skills/Requirements:
Strong written and verbal communication skills to produce reports, assign tasks, accept instructions and other tasks.
Organization and the ability to multitask to complete a wide variety of tasks.
Flexibility to help them adjust to new tasks should company or office needs change.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with all employees.
Leadership ability to manage challenges and oversee employees.
Attention to detail to ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and correctly.
Education/Certification/Licensure:
Graduation from a standard high school or GED.
Three (3) years of experience in healthcare or medical office is required.
Proficient using a computer.
Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 $50,000.00 per year
