Part-Time Court Officer Positions
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is hiring Part-Time Court Officers for positions in the Wayne County courts. Retired Police Officers are encouraged to apply. These at-will part-time positions pay $29.42 per hour.
Major Job Duties
• Provide for the safety and security of jurists, court staff, citizens, and prisoners in the courthouse
• Assisting as directed with screening of individuals and parcels entering the courthouse
• Enforce the decorum in the courtrooms and courthouse as directed
• Be prepared to make arrests and provide a proper response in the event of an emergency
• Make arrests as directed by a jurist or in response to a criminal violation
Requirements (Only for Part-Time Court Officer):
• Must be MCOLES Certified or Certifiable
• Must be a citizen of the United States
• Must be at least 18 years old and have obtained a high school diploma or GED
• Must have a valid Michigan Driver's License and a good driving record
• Must pass a background investigation
• Successfully qualify with a firearm
