Park Maintenance I PART TIME - SEASONAL STARTING HOURLY RATE: $13.08 - $15.08/hour DOQ The City of Fredericksburg is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Part Time – Seasonal Park Maintenance I employee. If you enjoy working outdoors and contributing to the beautification of our community, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities: - Perform general semi-skilled laboring tasks in grounds keeping for parks and public facilities.
- Mow grass, landscape, and carry out custodial duties.
- Operate a variety of hand and power equipment.
- Deliver and set up equipment for various City events and programs.
- Complete work order and daily report paperwork.
- Assist with storm debris clean-up operations as needed.
Qualifications: - Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid Virginia Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with co-workers, supervisory staff, and customers.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, weekends, some evenings, and fluctuating shifts based on park needs and scheduled events.
- Criminal background and driving record checks are required.
