Silvconnect is seeking Khmer Interpreters to provide Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI) services. As an interpreter, you will facilitate real-time communication between Khmer-speaking individuals and English-speaking professionals in medical, legal, business, and government settings . Your role will be critical in ensuring accurate, confidential, and culturally appropriate communication.
Responsibilities:
Interpret live conversations between Khmer-speaking individuals and professionals, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and neutrality .
Provide interpretation for healthcare, legal, social services, financial, and emergency response situations .
Follow industry best practices to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
Quickly adapt to different topics, speech styles, and accents while maintaining precision.
Accurately relay cultural nuances and context to avoid miscommunication.
Manage calls with patience and professionalism , even in high-pressure situations.
Requirements:
✅ Native or near-native fluency in Khmer and English .
✅ Experience in Over-the-Phone Interpreting (OPI) or Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) is preferred.
✅ Certification or formal training in interpretation is a plus.
✅ Strong listening, memory retention, and note-taking skills .
✅ Ability to remain neutral and professional in all interactions.
✅ Understanding of cultural differences and the ability to mediate effectively.
✅ Technical requirements: Stable internet connection , reliable computer or phone , and a quiet workspace .
